General Assembly Agenda

The Inter American Center of Tax Administrations’ General Assembly meeting will be held on April 25-28, 2016, in Mexico City, framed in the celebration of the CIATs founding 50th anniversary.

This event counts with the participation of representatives from its country members, associate member countries and international organizations like the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), World Customs Organization (WCO), among others.

The program of activities that are considered during the General Assembly is the following:

  • Monday, 25
  • During this day, the intern administrative meetings of the Executive Council and the Topics and Elections Committees, with the participation of country members representatives.

  • Tuesday, 26
  • For this day, it is considered to carry out the Inaugural Ceremony, where the works of the General Assembly will began, and later give way to presentations and discussions about Theme 1: “CIAT: 50 years working for a better tax management in Latin America – CIATs Executive Secretariat historic vision ”, and its respective subthemes.

  • Wednesday, 27
  • During this day, we will continue with the works, and the presentations and discussions about Theme 2: “Present: Tax management current status and Tax Administrations governance”, addressing the specific subthemes.

  • Thursday, 28
  • As last day of work, there will take place presentations and discussions about Theme 3: “Future challenges in tax management in XXI century” with its respective subthemes, to conclude with a Round Table and with the invitations to the Technical Conference 2016 and to the General Assembly 2017, in order to end the activities with the Executive Council closing acts and the closure event.
